We had a little easter egg hunt in our basement for the kids and Halle on Friday night. They had a good time and Brandon I have to say is quite the easter egg hunter. He probably got as many eggs as the girls combined.
On Saturday we went to an easter egg hunt at a park up here. It was FREEZING! Actually it was 25 degrees so it was below freezing. They had the hunts divided up by age group. Ours was 0-2 years. They had probably 1000 or more eggs just scattered around on the ground for the kids to pick up. More of an easter egg pick up than a hunt. Brent was with Natalie picking up eggs. He said she did pretty good. She picked up for about 5 minutes and then stopped. Brandon on the other hand was so cold he wouldn't bend down and pick them up. He just stood there and shivered the whole time. Finally when I opened one of them up and showed him there was candy inside he decided to pick up a couple - a couple being three in this case. Then he froze back up and refused to pick up anymore. So mommy and daddy along with most of the other mommies and daddys did most of the picking up. Afterward we were supposed to open the eggs because some of them had slips of paper for prizes. The kids were so cold that we had to really hurry through all that. Natalie just started crying hard and saying she was cold mommy and she wanted to leave. Natalie ended up getting lots of candy and 2 slips of paper worth 50 cents and one worth $1. They handed out 50 cent pieces and $1 pieces rather than bills. Brandon ended up just getting lots of candy, but Natalie shared some of here money with Brandon (whether she knows it or not). They probably got about 75 eggs apiece. They gave us buckets to pick up the eggs with, but we brought our own. It's a good thing because we nearly filled up all four buckets. There weren't just a whole lot of the little ones there, probably because of the weather. They also told us we could keep the eggs. So we have buckets, eggs and some candy. A lot of it is gone already. Guess I won't need to buy any plastic easter eggs next year! They also had an Easter bunny there. Natalie sat on his lap and gave him a hug. Brandon got pretty close to him. I think he maybe even gave him a partial hug, but he didn't want to sit on his lap. I will try to post some pictures when I get a chance to download them off of the camera.
Brandon hasn't had his pacifier since Monday morning and so far so good. Keep your fingers crossed for us. I guess it's just like the bottle thing...it was more me than it was him holding on to it. He's only asked for it a handful of times since Monday morning and I've told him I didn't have it and he's not really thrown a fit about it. He just kinda drops the subject and moves on. We haven't even given it to him at night or at nap times and he's doing fine. It seems like it takes him a little longer to settle down and actually fall asleep, but he's been doing it without the pacifier without putting up much of a fuss at all. I know some of you will be glad to hear the news (Ronnie!).
Here are some pictures of the kids playing with Keira while we were in Indiana. Well actually it looks like I didn't get any pictures with Brandon in them. So these are pictures of Natalie playing with Keira.
We had carpet put down in 2/3 of our basement on Sunday. The kids are having a good time with a new place to play and mommy and daddy are excited we are getting our living room back. Here are some pictures of the new carpet and the kids running around on it like crazy!
It finally warmed up enough last week that the kids were able to go out and play. They got new balls for a very belated birthday present and enjoyed playing with them outside. It got up to about 70 on Wednesday and we woke up Thursday morning to the ground covered in snow! Crazy weather! We are all ready to get back outside and enjoy some fresh air!
Last Monday the kids went with mommy to the dentist. They did such a good job that mommy decided to take them out to McDonald's afterwards to play at the PlayPlace. They are getting so good at climbing and they LOVE to slide!
