Cleveland Children's Museum

Mom and I took the kids to the Cleveland Children's Museum last Saturday. The kids had so much fun they didn't want to leave even after three hours. This is a pretty small museum, but geared to kids up to about 8 years old, so it was lots of fun for them. They were able to play with water, play on a "farm", pretend to ride/drive a bus, pretend to be doctors, change tires, go grocery shopping and more. Here are some pictures of them having fun and learning.

Big Girl & Big Boy Beds

The kids have new big girl and big boy beds. Here are some pictures. Natalie has been sleeping in her bed since Saturday night and Brandon started this afternoon with his nap. So far so good. You can tell they really love to play with beds if nothing else. As we speak I can't get them to come down for dinner because they are more interested in sitting in Brandon's bed and reading books! :-)

Cleveland Zoo

Earlier this summer we went to the Akron Zoo. Incidentally those pictures are on that other memory card. However, on Tuesday we went to the Cleveland Zoo. It is so much bigger and nicer than the Akron Zoo, but it does take longer to get there and there's so much to see you can't hardly see it all in one day. I will spare you the pictures of all the animals, but here are few of the kids. Also, there is a picture of a "corpse" flower. It is a rare flower that only blooms once every 13 years and then only blooms for two days. We happened to be lucky enough to see it. It was a huge flower! They said it omits this horrible smell that attracts insects, but it only really omits it when it first opens and the it dissipates. Lucky for us we were there the second day of its blooming, so no bad smell.

Marshallville Picnic

Last Saturday was the Marshallville picnic. This is an annual picnic for the people at church to get together and eat and play games, etc. Here are a few pictures from this years picnic. The kids Bible class teacher, Miss Sharon, lives nearby and we also walked to her house to feed her fishies and froggies she has in the pond her and her husband built in the backyard. The kids had so much fun they still didn't want to go home after 9PM.

New Bicycles

Grandma and Grandpa bought the kids bicycles while we were in Indiana. They are enjoying learning to ride. They especially like to coast down on the driveway. Here's a picture of them doing just that.

Akron Aeros Game - NASCAR Night

Last week we went to an Akron Aeros (baseball) game. We decided to go one because we wanted to go to take the kids to a baseball game this summer and two because it was NASCAR night. NASCAR driver Bobby LaBonte was there signing autographs and he also threw out the first pitch. Some friends of ours also went. They were able to get there early and stood in line to get his autograph for themselves and were kind enough to get one for us also. It was a little cool so we didn't stay the whole game, but it was a fun time! Speaking of cool, it has been strangely cool here since we got back from Indiana. It's hardly been over 80 I would say in two weeks!

Sorry It's Been So Long

I'm sorry it has been so long since I have posted. I will try to catch you up on some of the things we've been doing since we returned from our trip to Indiana. Once I find the other memory card from our camera I will post some 4th of July pictures too.

On our way home from Indiana we decided to stop at the Newport Aquarium, but it was going to be a couple hour wait for us just to get in, so we nixed that and looked around at some of the shops there. We went to this shop where the kids picked out their own animal and then watched it be "stuffed". They also were able to pick out an outfit for their animal. Once the animals were stuffed the kids were able to place a small stuffed heart and star inside before they sewed them up. Here are a couple pictures of them putting the hearts and stars in their animals. Natalie picked out an elephant and named here Cinderella. Brandon picked out a leopard and as far as I know he still doesn't have a name.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Daddy's birthday was Thursday and he chose to go to Chuck E. Cheese to celebrate. Unfortunately they don't give out crowns to wear for adult birthdays, but he did manage to get a balloon for each of the kids. Our friends Marc, Sarah, Halle and baby Ellah helped us celebrate. We all had a great time, especially Daddy & Marc!! :-)

We want to say Happy Birthday to Aunt Shelley too!! Hope you had a great birthday!!!!
